Defense shines as SHS battles Statesboro in scrimmage

   The Swainsboro Tigers hosted the Statesboro Blue Devils in a preseason scrimmage this past Friday night at Tiger Field, and defenses ruled the evening in this 7-0 Blue Devil victory. The lone scoring drive in the three quarters played by the varsity squads was a short 14-yard drive following a Statesboro interception.
   Statesboro featured a run-heavy Wishbone offense and attempted to bully their way against a stout defensive Tigers’ front. Swainsboro—led by a front line of Ka’yun Davis, Keenan Williams, Armani Sims, and KeSean Easterling—was more than up for the challenge, shutting the Blue Devil offense down.
