The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Bridge Pathway Class of 2018 graduated in a pinning ceremony from Southeastern Technical College on July 26 in the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Auditorium.
The members of the ASN Bridge graduating class were: Jessi Frost, Ashley Grimm, and Akebia Gay from Swainsboro, Courtney Claxton from Wrightsville, Marilyn Dale and Charly Gibson from Wadley, Melayna Denmark, Elizabeth Ibarra, Jeremy Wilson, and Kerri Dixon from Vidalia, Samantha Gay from Soperton, Amy Griffin from Baxley, Jennifer Griffin
and Ashely Miles from Hazlehurst, Rebecca Harvey from Claxton, Amanda Morrison from Kite, Daniel Sayles from Collins, Karen Way from Stillmore, Melissa Badie-Williams from Lyons.
This is the first graduating bridge class from STC. “Tonight is truly a monumental moment for you as well as for our college,” said Teresa Coleman, VP Academic Affairs, who welcomed everyone to the ceremony and congratulating the graduates.
Class representative Wilson said, “A lot of nursing specialties are represented within us. We have long-term care, we have the operating room, we have the emergency room, we have medical surgical nurses,
we have pediatric nurses, and we also have prison nurses.” He personally challenged the graduating class, “I ask that we be the very best nurses we can be. Never give or accept excuses. I ask that in each scenario, you have steadfast compassion about you.”
Graduates were then awarded their pins by Shannon Veal and Beth Hendrix, STC’s ASN instructors.
