Funeral services for Allene Johnson Hooks, 83, of Swainsboro were held Sunday, August 5, 2018, at The Rock Worship Center at 2:00 p.m. with Reverends Ronnie Collins and Robert Beckhum officiating. Interment followed in New Hope Church Cemetery. She passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Allene Johnson Hooks was born January 30, 1935, in Swainsboro to the late Beecher Johnson and Ronella Screws Johnson. Hooks was a homemaker, and she had a big heart, opening her home to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. Hooks was a member of The Rock Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Talmadge Hooks; son, Ronald Hooks; and brother, Alton Johnson.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (Milton) Womack of Swainsboro and Tammy (Andy) Roundtree of Dublin; sons, Buck Hooks (Judy Collins) of Nunez, Donald Lee (Jeanie) Hooks of Swainsboro, Kenny Wayne (Ethel) Hooks of Swainsboro, Randy Hooks of Nunez, Danny Ray Hooks, Larry Hooks, Steve (Lisa) Hooks all of Swainsboro, and Todd (Angela) Hooks of Nunez; brothers, Doc (Lanora) Johnson of Swainsboro, Bobby (Dorothy) Johnson of Dublin, and Rex (Shirley) Johnson of Swainsboro; sisters, Sue (Carol) Patton of Athens, Linda (Robert) Cochran of Swainsboro, and Burnell (Mike) Roberts of Augusta; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
