On Thursday, July 25, fire units were dispatched to 3129 Highway US 1, The Red Roof, for a reported trailer truck on fire by the fuel pumps. Due to the nature of the call, multiple agencies were dispatched. Swainsboro Engine 200 arrived on scene to find large earth mover tires on a flat bed trailer involved in flames blocking Highway 46. Using a foam additive to charged attack line, the volume of fire was quickly knocked down. The fire originally started in two of the trailers tires. The intense fire melted a portion of the trailer while spreading the stack of three tires. Responding to the call were Oak Park Fire Department, Oak Park Police, Swainsboro Fire Department, Twin City Volunteer Fire Department, Metter Fire Department, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Georgia DOT Champ Unit.
