Graveside services for Wanda Sue Henry, 67, of Twin City were held Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum at 2 p.m. with Elder Mike Gray officiating. She passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Emory University Hospital following an extended illness.
Ms. Wanda Sue Henry was born March 10, 1951, in Metter to the late Walter Hendrix and Wilma Hutto. She lived in Twin City the past 43 years. She played bass guitar for Southern Glory, The Stewarts, and Gospel Carriers. Henry loved gardening and buying and watching movies. A member of Baptist Rest Primitive Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elena Nicole Clark; brother, John E. Hendrix; and great-grandson, Dante Lockwood.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa (Darren Newberry) Kaser of Lizella; sons, Russell (Gail) D. Thornton and Jim Clark, both of Twin City; sisters, Diann Barber of Swainsboro and Lori (Tommy) Dukes of Wadley; grandchildren, TSgt. John Thornton, JoAnna (David) Crews, Ashley (Phillip) Lockwood, Elliot (Elena) Clark, and Lizzie Clark; special friend, Phoebe Stewart; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
