The Forest-Blade participates in local book program

   The Forest-Blade was the secret business to give out books for Family Connection for the week of July 2. A total of 20 children followed the clues to get their free books so they can enjoy reading while on summer break.

   Emanuel County Family Connection is very active in addressing the low literacy rate in the county. According to the latest report of Kids Count, Emanuel County is seeing some improvement in the Milestone testing for third graders achieving developing learner or above at a percent of 70.1 percent.
