The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its annual Summer Reading Program hot dog party at noon on Tuesday, June 26, at Franklin Memorial Library. This yearly event rewards the young people who participated in the library’s Summer Reading Program.

Co-chairs Frank and Deana Patrick were amazed by the number of children that have been reading and enjoying the many activities organized by library director Ann Buxton and her staff. Approximately 120 children and parents enjoyed Kiwanian Bobby Seamans’ grilled hot dogs cooked on his special grill he provides to the Kiwanis Club year after year.

In addition to the grilled hot dogs, the club served Captain John Derst buns, Ruffles potato chips, lemonade, water, and homemade chocolate chip cookies baked by Deana Patrick. The Kiwanis Club provides all funds and manpower for the event.
