During the late afternoon hours of Thursday June 14, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Midville area. Shortly thereafter, a weather system roared through the area of Old Savannah Road, starting by the railroad tracks and continued across Highway 56 North to Drake Road. The damage was extensive with many trees uprooted and power lines and poles snapped and down. Numerous trees fell at the Hines Church, located on Old Savannah Road, with damage to an out building. Power crews worked late into the night to replace poles and restore broken power lines on Highway 56 North. The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has been advised of the damage.
