Kea awarded James W. Buckley Scholarship at EGSC

   Cameron Kea, a recent honor graduate of Swainsboro High School and son of Rusty and April Kea, was recently awarded the James W. Buckley Leadership Scholarship at East Georgia State College. Kea is a freshman at EGSC majoring in a pre-med track with plans of becoming a physician, and has also been named a Correll Scholar. He is a life-long resident of Emanuel County and has one sister, Emily. His grandparents are Barney and Patricia Kea and Trudie Oglesby.

   The James W. Buckley Leadership Scholarship was established in the mid 1990s by James’s wife, Imogene, to honor an exceptional high school graduate with plans to attend East Georgia State College. The recipient must excel in scholarship, leadership and service to the community. These are ideals that the Buckleys see as indicators of a student’s future success.
