Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) is proud to announce its success from the Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program. The program allows individuals and businesses to make contributions directly to eligible hospitals, with 100 percent tax credit for individuals and 75 percent income tax liability for businesses. In 2018, donors have pledged $940,000 to EMC, with collections exceeding $400,000 as of June. This program is very beneficial to rural community hospitals because taxpayers may now choose to invest tax dollars in Emanuel County by contributing directly to EMC.
Emanuel Medical Center is committed to be the hospital of choice and providing the highest quality healthcare for the citizens in Emanuel County. These donations have allowed EMC to purchase many new pieces of equipment, including EKG units, specialty beds, an ultrasound unit, cardiac monitors, and a nuclear medicine camera. Renovations and upgrades are underway in our Intensive Care Unit with special thanks to fundraising efforts of the Foundation of Emanuel Medical Center, whose auction raised approximately $25,000 toward the project.
