8U girls travel to Moultrie for state tournament

   On July 10-12, the 8-and-under (8U) girls all-star softball team from Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department (SECRD) competed in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Class A/B State Softball Tournament.
   Held at Magnolia Sports Complex, the team played two games on Wednesday. They first took on Moultrie and were defeated 13-4. Their next and final game was against Rincon, who won 18-10 and ended SECRD’s time in southwest Georgia.

   Team members Berklie Bishop, Chloe Boulineau, Jillian Davis, Brook Fleming, Madison Harrison, Kyleigh Hostilo, Aubrey Jones, Charley Mitchell, Payton Peebles, Holli Schoen, and Aubrey Scott brought home a fifth place finish. Coaching the team were Adam Ely, Trent Boulineau, and Jennifer Jones.
