Emanuel County Young Farmers recently held its June meeting at the Farm Bureau building. The 18 members in attendance enjoyed a meal sponsored by Swainsboro Stockyard. Dr. Sam Evans and Dr. Ace Clark shared different brands and uses for cattle fly control.

John Harrison, Young Farmer advisor, reminded members that the Emanuel County Food Processing Facility (canning plant) in Twin City will be open Monday through Saturday until the end of July.

The next Young Farmer meeting will be August 23. Tony Hutchins with Georgia Farm Bureau will present a program on estate management.

If you are actively involved in production agriculture or concerned with the future of food and fiber, you are urged to join the Emanuel County Young Farmer organization. Harrison assists farmers in everything from agricultural technology to legislative issues. Contact Emanuel County Farm Bureau at 237-8848 for more information.
