On Saturday, June 30, Recovery is Possible will host its annual Mental Health Awareness event from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Boneyard Pavilion. This year’s theme will be “Recovery is a Choice. Choose You.”
Entertainment for the night will feature local music artist Rhett Blount. Three individuals will deliver personal stories, one involving mental health recovery, one substance abuse, and one youth on the perspective of mental health. Vendors such as mental health agencies, a representative from the VA, and The Respect Institute, will be present. The Respect Institute is a 3.5-day training program that helps individuals piece together their recovery stories in chronological order, and a staff member will be on hand to give information to those interested. Gift card giveaways will take place throughout the evening. Live paintings will also be available, and free pizza and drinks will be served.
