Passing of the Shears

   After 40 years of working as an educator, mentor, and role model, Peggy Braswell, hangs up her apron and puts away her shears.

   The Cosmetology program at Southeastern Technical College (STC) focuses on the practical application of salon management, mixology, and customer service to ensure graduates are successful in their field. Cosmetology instructors are responsible for covering all aspects of cosmetology from braiding to bookkeeping.

   Braswell has worked at STC’s Swainsboro campus molding future cosmetologists for more than 35 years. In addition to this, she has owned and operated her own salon and has made a large impact on the Swainsboro-Vidalia community.

   Earlier this year, Braswell retired from her position as Cosmetology Instructor and is looking forward to spending quality time with her grandchildren. Her work at STC has been a rewarding and valuable experience.
