Martha Poole, 76

   A memorial service for Martha Poole, 76, of Twin City was held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, with Elder Mike Gray officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday morning, June 24, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

   Ms. Martha Poole was born July 9, 1941, in Twin City to Grady Brown and Mary Lucindia Davis Brown. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing, had just began the art of painting, and was a great cook. Poole loved her family and was known by many as “MeMaw.” She was a member of The Rock Worship Center. Poole was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bobby Lewis Brown.

   Survivors include daughters, Cheryl Forehand of Tallahassee, Florida, and Carol (Roy) Pleasant of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jake Forehand, Maranda (Wayne) Bailey, Shane Hobbs, Hill (Kirk) Veal, Mark Hobbs, and Roy Pleasant IV; great-grandchildren, Joseph Bailey, Nateleigh Bailey, Hailey Hobbs, and Siddalee Veal; sister, Joann Jones; nieces, Lynelle Davis and Lynn Young; nephew, Larry Jones; her adored boys, Chase Ellison and Chet Ellison; and many friends.

  Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
