Two distracted driver crashes, same cause for both

   You often hear the theme “distracted driver” used in regard to motor vehicle crashes. Recently, there were two such incidents on the roadways of Emanuel County. Both involved drivers fell asleep while operating vehicles.

   The first crash occurred on Tuesday, May 8, at approximately 1:20 p.m. The male driver of a 2017 black, Toyota Corolla fell asleep while driving westbound on I-16 by Exit 90. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with the large highway sign for 1/2 mile exit of 90 to Lyons, Swainsboro. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and…
