The Swainsboro Lady Tigers got to taste the state playoffs last Thursday in Fitzgerald but fell to the Purple Hurricanes (5-2), ending what has been a very successful season.

Kirsten Gray and Mercedes Rosas each scored a goal for Swainsboro, but Fitzgerald simply applied too much pressure and kept the Tigers from grabbing momentum, especially in the second half. Swainsboro went to halftime trailing only 2-1, but the final half saw Fitzgerald outscore the Tigers 3-1 to prevent any late rally.

The Lady Tigers finished their season at 12-6-1 and will lose five seniors to graduation. Zayda Ramos, Curstin Burke, Sydney Hackle, Keasia Johnson, and Ami Scott are the seniors on the 2018 team. Swainsboro will return two of the top three scorers from this season, as Gray and Rosas will return next season to continue what has been a successful run in the first three years of the soccer program.
