Seedling Garden Club visits flower farm

   The Seedling Garden Club held its monthly meeting on Monday, April 9, at Jack’s Creek Farms and Flowers.

   Upon arrival at the farm, club members were welcomed by owner, Jan Hooks, who gave the history of the farm and the old house. Hooks was born in the house on the farm. The farm was owned by her father, the late Wendell Hooks. She explained how and why she chose the farm for a project and business.

   The farm has 62 acres of land, but she only uses around 10 acres for her flower farm. Using only organic materials, Hooks planted 2,000 gladiolus that day. Members…
