Mollie Kathern Hughes Chapman, 86

   A memorial service for Mrs. Mollie Kethern Hughes Chapman, 86, of Midville will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Summertown Baptist Church with Reverends Ray Jenkins and Keith Claxton officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Pruitt Health of Swainsboro following an extended illness.

   Mrs. Mollie Kathern Hughes Chapman was born June 14, 1931, in Midville to the late Bailey Spence and Elsie Bishop Spence. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, shopping, collecting Beanie Babies, and visiting friends and church family. Chapman loved dachshund dogs and going to eat with family at Canoochee Catfish and McKinney’s Pond. She was a member at Summertown Baptist Church and attended Canoochee Baptist Church. Chapman was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilburn Harrison Chapman; daughter, Patsy Willis; brother, Robert Cannady; sister, Joyce Allmond; step-sons, Billy V. Chapman Sr., and Donnie Ray Chapman.

   Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Dora) Riner of Midville; daughter, Vickie (Mark) Hudson of Midville; step-daughter, Ann (Michael) Buxton of Kite; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

   Honorary pallbearers are grandsons.

   Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
