Mitzi D. Hutcheson Carter, 58

   Funeral services for Mitzi D. Hutcheson Carter, 58, of Evans were held Monday, May 14, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Elder J.E. Griffis officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Doctors Hospital following an extended illness.

   Mrs. Mitzi D. Hutcheson Carter was born April 19, 1960, in Statesboro to Newburn Hutcheson and Ruth Henry Hutcheson. She enjoyed reading, writing, decorating, and going to the beach. Carter loved her family, especially her five grandchildren, and loved spending quiet time at the cottage in devotion and prayer with her Lord. She was a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church. Carter was preceded in death by her father; sister, Sue Reeves; and brother, Neal Hutcheson.

   Survivors include her husband, Clark Carter of Evans; her mother; daughters, Tori (Brad) Wells of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Lori (Raul) Santiago of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Katlin Carter Lillie Carter, both of Evans; brothers, Keith (Kimberly) Hutcheson of Dublin, Lynn Hutcheson of Adrian, and Sean Hutcheson of Macon; grandchildren, Koby, Jake, Able, Sunnie, and Isaiah; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

   Pallbearers were Raul Santiago, Bradley Wells, Seth Hutcheson, Nathan Hutcheson, Tal Henry, and Steve Jones.

   Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.

    I know your family is in mourning and our heavenly father takes note of your pain. He will give you the strength to endure this loss. Only a little while longer and tears and pain will be a thing of the past as promised by God. In the meantime, I pray that your family has strength from the “God of comfort” to help you endure.
