McDiffitt speaks to Kiwanis members

   The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting on Tuesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at Catered Creations with President Jim Clapham presiding. There were 17 members present and one guest. 

   The program for the evening was hosted by Kay Peacock, who introduced Becky McDiffitt, director of the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home (EMCNH). In honor of National Nursing Home Week, McDiffitt presented a program on activities of the EMCNH. She began by noting that the residents really enjoy the nursing home but likely would rather be at home. The 44 female and five male residents of EMCNH are given 24-hour care by a qualified staff of LPNs and RNs. She highlighted efforts in restorative nursing, therapy special diets for weight loss and weight gain, and the special activities like the Kiwanis-sponsored cookouts. The facility…
