Mr. Leroy “Lee” Otis Glover Jr., affectionately known as “Lee” or “Junior,” was born in Florida on October 12, 1939, to the late Leroy Sr. and Matilda Glover. In 1946, the family relocated to New York City, where he attended public school and graduated from Food and Needle Trade High School. Glover learned to be a baker and enjoyed the craft very much. He enlisted in the Marine Corp on March 12, 1959. Glover served four years and was honorably discharged on March 11, 1963, in California, where he chose to remain living. He was employed for 11 years at Langendorf Bread Company as a baker. Glover went into business for himself as an independent trucker, hauling freight across the 48 contiguous states. He was also employed for several years at Ferrari Beer Distribution Company and worked there until his retirement. Glover enjoyed taking about his life growing up in Florida, Georgia, and New York. Barbecues with family and friends were his favorite thing to do. Traveling in his motorhome to Georgia and many other places was his love. Reminiscing about the good old days was so much fun for him. He was a lover of sports and was a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Oakland Raiders, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Glover was preceded in death by his sister, Lillie Mae Ingram.
Survivors include one son, Lorne Glover; siblings, Edward Glover, Freddie Glover, and Dorothy Marshall; significant other, Cecilia Segovia, and her children; ex-wife, Greta Glover, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro and Bay Area Mortuary Services of San Jose, California, were in charge of services.
