Emergency Food and Shelter Grant Received

Emanuel County Georgia has been awarded $11,595 in federal funds through the phase 35  Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) /Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This funding is to be used to supplement emergency food and shelter Programs in the county.

The selection was made by a National Board chaired by the U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and consisting of representatives from American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Jewish Federations of North America, The Salvation Army; and, United Way Worldwide. The Local Board is charged to distribute funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas around the country. A Local Board will determine how the funds awarded will be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds and any additional funds made available under phase 35 of the program. In previous phases of this program the funds have primarily been used to provide food and shelter to the needy within the County.

Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profit or unit of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply by contacting Tammy Jackson at 706.736.1199 x 218 or emailing her at tjackson@goldenharvest.org for an application. The deadline for applications to be received is May 21, 2018.

Said legal description being controlling, however the property is more commonly known as 1594 HWY 1 N, SWAINSBORO, GA 30401.

The indebtedness secured by said Security Deed has been and is hereby declared due because of default under the terms of said Security Deed and Note.  The indebtedness remaining in default, this sale will be made for the purpose of paying the same, all expenses of the sale, including attorneys’ fees (notice to collect same having been given) and all other payments provided for under the terms of the Security Deed and Note.

Said property will be sold on an “as-is” basis without any representation, warranty or recourse against the above-named or the undersigned.  The sale will also be subject to the following items which may affect the title: any outstanding ad valorem taxes (including taxes which are a lien, whether or not now due and payable); the right of redemption of any taxing authority; matters which would be disclosed by an accurate survey or by an inspection of the property; all zoning ordinances; assessments; liens; encumbrances; restrictions; covenants, and any other matters of record superior to said Security Deed.

To the best of the knowledge and belief of the undersigned, the owner and party in possession of the property is ROY MCGEE, ESTATE AND/OR HEIRS AT LAW OF ROY MCGEE, or tenants(s). 

The sale will be conducted subject (1) to confirmation that the sale is not prohibited under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and (2) to final confirmation and audit of the status of the loan with the holder of the Security Deed.
