Emanuel County Development Authority awarded $3 million loan for sewer system infrastructure

The Emanuel County Development Authority was recently awarded a $3,000,000 Georgia Fund loan by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) board of directors.
The loan will finance the construction of three pump stations, a force main, and three chemical feed buildings at the 1-16 Industrial Park. The project will construct sewerage infrastructure to support the capacity needs of prospective industries and a new sawmill facility.
The authority will pay 2.75 percent interest on the 20-year loan.
“The Georgia Fund is a tangible commitment by Gov. Deal and the General Assembly to assist local governments across the state with their infrastructure improvements. In addition to the public’s health and safety, these projects are critical to a community’s economic growth and prosperity,” said GEFA Executive Director Kevin Clark.
