Funeral services for Clarence E. Richards, 59, were held Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Pete Harden presiding. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died April 25, 2018.
Mr. Clarence E. Richards was born June 11, 1958, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Odesse Richards Deas. Serving as a deacon, he was a member of Franklin Grove Holiness Church and received Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Richards graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1977 and attended Albany State College before enlisting and serving eight years in the U.S. Army. He was also a student of Swainsboro Technical College, where he majored in drafting and surveying. Richards moved to Florida and worked for the State of Florida for eight years before moving back to Georgia. He loved painting, fishing, and his family. Richards was preceded in death by his mother and maternal grandparent, Nathan and Neal Bell Richards of Swainsboro.
Survivors include one son, Shon Ellison Mcclendon of Stillmore; sister, Yvette D. Das of Sugarhill; and two brothers, Earl Das and Kewan Richards of Swainsboro.
Pallbearers were the Class of 1977.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
