In Emanuel County Superior Court’s April 2018 term, Million Lamar Bedford was convicted by jury on one count malice murder, one count armed robbery, one county burglary in the first degree, two counts felony murder, and five counts of possession of firearm during commission of a felony. He was sentenced to life without parole, with an additional five years added.
Bedford was one of two defendants found guilty in the 2017 shooting and fatal death of a Twin City civilian, Johnny James Jackson.
The co-defendant, Yaheed Brooks, was sentenced to life without parole immediately following the verdict last month. Because Bedford was 16-years-old at the time the crime occurred, however, the court recessed to obtain further information before moving forward with his sentencing.
Other sentencings in the April 2018 were as follows:
Rodrigus Henderson was found guilty (Alford) on one count terroristic threats. He was sentenced to five years on probation and a fine of $1,000.
Derrik Brent Jackson negotiated a plea of guilty on one count entering an automobile and one count criminal damage to property in the second degree. He was sentenced to five years probation.
