SHS Tiger baseball splits important series with Bacon County

   After sweeping Bryan County to get back into playoff contention, the Swainsboro Tigers mercy-ruled Bacon County last Tuesday at Tiger Field, 12-2, before losing 9-5 on the road to the Red Raiders last Friday night. The Tigers have four remaining region games and some work to do to secure one of the four playoff spots and extend their season.
   The Tigers circled their matchup with Bacon County as a watershed series, knowing how important these two games would be in determining their playoff hopes. The Red Raiders sat in the fourth playoff spot, two games ahead of Swainsboro. Fresh off of sweeping Benedictine in two games the previous week, Bacon County came to Tigers Field full of confidence. Cameron Kea toed the rubber and was sharp outside of a shaky second inning in which he walked three batters with two outs.
