Key to speak at EGSC Spring Commencement

East Georgia State College will hold its spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 4, at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium. Speaker for the event will be Denny Key, while the alumni speaker will be Sara Young and the student representative will be Krystal Perry.
Denny Key, a native of Swainsboro, graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1966. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration–Marketing degree from the University of Georgia in 1970. He served in the United States Air Force from 1970–1973 and worked at Citizens Bank of Swainsboro until his retirement.
Key is currently the chair of the East Georgia State College Foundation and the executive director of the Mill Creek Foundation. He is also the past president and current member of Rotary Club, past president of the Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He is also a trustee of the Foundation of Emanuel Medical Center and serves on the board of directors of the Citizens Bank of Swainsboro. Key was named Person of the Year in 2017 by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards banquet.
Key and his wife, Peggy, have two sons, Dennis and Brian, and three granddaughters, Evans, Etta and Lainey.
