FCCLA delegates attend Georgia State Leadership Conference

More than 1,800 middle and high school students in Family and Consumer Sciences attended the Georgia FCCLA State Leadership Conference at The Sheraton Atlanta and AmericasMart Building 2. Students channeled their inner leaders by attending general sessions and workshops, and competing in different competitive events.
ECI FCCLA students competed at state in numerous events. Abby Cowart and Caroline Kraus received gold for their project Food Innovations Senior; Jesley Snellgrove, Alexis Wiggins, and Madison Grimm received silver for their project Food Innovations Junior; Lauren Sherrod received silver for her Chapter Service Project Display senior; Emma Mason and Olivia Canady received first place gold for their Chapter Service Project Display Junior; Rebecca Fordham received silver for her Chapter Project Service; and Molly McBride and Morgan Rehberg received first place gold for their project illustrated “Talk Junior.” The students advancing to nationals will be traveling to Atlanta on June 28 through July 2 to represent their state.
“These students are truly the face of the future. They competed in activities that showcased not only their knowledge, but their leadership skills,” said Anna Johnson, chapter adviser. “Congratulations to the students for their hard work and preparation.”
