Funeral services for Dora Lee Poole Richards, 71, were held Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 3 p.m. at God’s Holy Tabernacle in Twin City with Minister Leroy Sapp presiding. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died March 30, 2018, at Augusta Health University after an extended illness.
Mrs. Dora Lee Poole Richards was born April 7, 1946, to James Timothy Poole Sr. and Lenora Jackson Poole in Swainsboro. At a very young age, she fell in love with Jesus. Falling in love with Jesus was the best part of her life. She experienced God’s working power over and over again. She shared her testimonies with anyone, anywhere, and anytime. Richards was a member of William Grove Holiness Church during her youth. As an adult, she joined Trinity Baptist Church and later in life, she joined God’s Holy Tabernacle in Twin City, where she was a member until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Allene Adams; and three brothers, Sidney Jones Poole, Eddie James “A.J.” Poole, and James Timothy Poole Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Rudolph V. Richards; four daughters, Felicia Hughes of Rincon, Beatrice Hansley, Pamela Adams, and Ashley Adams; three sisters, Annie Mae McKenzie of Paterson, New Jersey, Mary V. Wadley, and Geraldine Jones; one brother, Johnny Poole of Newmark, New Jersey; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers were Devin Hughes, Delmas Scott, Joseph Smith, Flyd Brandon, Dwain Hughes, David Marshall, Will Smith, and Terry Walker.
Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of services.
