City Council holds monthly meeting

   The City Council and Mayor of Swainsboro met for their monthly meeting on Monday, April 2, at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The mayor welcomed all, and Rev. Bruce Flowers gave the invocation, then the assembled recited the pledge.

   In reference to new business:

   • John E. Parker requested to discuss street parking tickets that are being issued to all vehicles parked in the roadway that are considered to be a threat or liability to others. Chief Randy Ellison reported the rules and regulations to council, assuring that all tickets would be written using safety transgressions and common sense.
  
• Lawyer Sidney B. Shepherd answered questions following the second reading of the proposed refuse, weeds, and junk ordinance change. Al Lawson, city administrator, informed council that the ordinance would constitute a public hearing prior to voting at the next meeting slated for 6 p.m on May 7.
