Leroy Brantley Jr., 50

   Funeral services for Leroy Brantley Jr., 50, of Swainsboro were held Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. at New Mt. Moriah AME with Minister Albertha Carter presiding. Interment followed in Green Cemetery. He departed this life on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the Augusta Medical Center (MCG) following an extended illness.

   Mr. Leroy Brantley was born in Emanuel County to the the late Leroy Brantley Sr. and Lucille Watson Brantley. He was baptist by faith. Brantley graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in Augusta and worked for the Masters and Williford Cleaners, both in Augusta, for many years before moving back to Swainsboro. He worked with Lynn and Bob’s, Ware’s BBQ, and Sweet Tea Grille as a chef. He loved to cook and was very good at it-many will miss him and his good food. Brantley was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Pollie Brantley, Margaret Scoot, and Elnora Gardner; and one brother, Johnny B. Brantley.

   Survivors include one son, Malik Brantley; three sisters, Lou Ella Gracy of Augusta, Mattie L. Brantley, and Barbara L. Ricks; three brothers, Edward (Shirley) Brantley, Rev. Samuel (Jacqueline) Brantley, and Carl H. Brantley; a devoted friend, Janice Mitchell; step-daughter, Tiesha Mitchell; two aunts, Estella Brantley and Ruth White of Marion, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

   Pallbearers were Wayne Brantley, Vincent Brantley, Alexander Bright, Kem Scott, Danny Williams, and Earl Deas. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Sweet Tea Grille.

   Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
