Garfield Community Club meets for January

   On February 1 at 2 p.m., the Garfield Community Club held its meeting at Lew’s BBQ in Twin City. Ten members were present, and all paid their dues for the ensuing year.

   The meeting was called to order and the pledge of allegiance was recited, followed by singing “God Bless America.”

   The devotion and prayer given by Janice Hendley took scripture 1 John 3:16-24 from “Our Daily Bread.” The message encouraged all to love one another to make the world a better place.

   The club motto was given by all, the club creed was read by Ellen Evans, and Sharon Cowart read the club objectives.

   Following the official welcome, minutes were presented by Dot Cowart. A motion to accept these minutes was provided by Joann Trammell. Judy Phillips seconded, and the motion carried.
