Charlie Morris Hopkins Jr., 73

   A memorial service for Charlie Morris Hopkins Jr., 73, of Swainsboro was held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 6 p.m. with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. He passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Lakeside Manor following an extended illness.

   Mr. Charlie Morris Hopkins Jr. was born September 23, 1944, in Emanuel County to the late Charlie Morris Hopkins Sr. and Maybell Stapleton Hopkins. He was a retired truck driver and lived in Emanuel County all of his life. He enjoyed working, fishing, and being around people. Hopkins was of the Baptist faith, and he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Loree Hopkins, and Ruby Garnto; and brothers, Johnny Hopkins, Albert Hopkins, and Lamar Hopkins.

      Survivors include his daughters, Sabrina (Greg) Redd of Emerson and Tonya Hopkins of Austell; brothers, Edward (Trannie) Hopkins and Gene Hopkins, both of Swainsboro; sister, Shirley Conley of Enigma; grandchildren, Dalton Redd, Payton Redd, Jared Coffin, Ryan Joneston, Dillion Joneston, and Curtiss Cavender; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 427 North Main St., Swainsboro, GA, 30401.

   Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
