Updates from The Rotary Club of Swainsboro

The Rotary Club of Swainsboro held its January 22, 2018 meeting at Catered Creations in Swainsboro.
Al Lawson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. Milton Gray gave the invocation and Phil Boatright led the pledge and Rotary Four-Way Test.
The meetings Rotary member profile was Terry Reynolds. Terry hails from Jenkins County where he graduated high school in 1966. Reynolds entered the United States Air Force in 1967. Terry’s tour of duty included two years in Japan and one year in South Korea. Terry Reynolds noted that his time of service made him even more appreciative of sacrifices made by the veterans helped during the Wounded Warriors Project every year. Reynolds started in the cable business in 1972 before venturing out to open his own cable company in 1982. He owns cable companies in Swainsboro and Macon, Georgia. Terry and his wife of almost 50 years have three wonderful sons: Alton, Davey, and Matt. Terry says their pride and joy are their grandchildren.
Dori Johnson provided an update on the plans for the Pine Tree Festival Pageants, scheduled for April 28 at the Swainsboro City Auditorium. Johnson advised the members that she is expecting even bigger and better pageants than last year. Rotarians will be setting up and decorating the day before the pageants as well as working the day of the pageants to ensure everything runs smoothly and seamlessly. Johnson announced that she plans to get pageant entry applications out early this year in anticipation of a great day of pageants.
The Rotary Cub of Swainsboro is a unit of Rotary International and a member of District #6920. Rotary is dedicated to growing local economies. The Rotary Club of Swainsboro encourages everyone to grow the economy in Emanuel County by supporting the pageants and all the other activities of the 72nd Annual Pine Tree Festival & /Southeast Timber Expo.
