Rev. McFarland to speak at commemoration service this Sunday

   In remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church will host a commemoration service entitled “Breaking the Chains of Injustice” at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14. The featured speaker of the service will be Rev. Clinton McFarland of Grace Baptist Church in Stockbridge.

   Rev. McFarland has been preaching and teaching the Word of God for more than two decades. Born in 1967, in Shubuta, Miss., he eagerly began to serve as a musician in his father’s church at the tender age of 8-years-old. At the age of 22, he accepted a mandate from God to proclaim His Word. Because his passion for the word of God was so intense and obviously filled with purpose, he was called to pastor his first church five months later and had the privilege of pastoring in his native state for 18 years.
