The 2018 semifinal between Georgia and Oklahoma had many excited fans sitting on the edge of couches, biting their nails on Monday, Jan. 1, as the two teams played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. This was the first time Georgia has played in a Rose Bowl since 1943.

Oklahoma was the toughest offense Georgia faced this past year. Trailing the Sooners several times throughout the contest, the Bulldogs were able to pull the game in their favor after double overtime, winning 54–48.

The Rose Bowl win puts UGA back in the national championship game for the first time since Herschel Walker carried the Bulldogs in 1980.

Charlie McRae, son of Dr. Wesley McRae, a UGA alum, and Mrs. Agatha McRae, is shown donning his Georgia gear ahead of the historic bowl game. He is in kindergarten grade at David Emanuel Academy, and he has one sister, Emily McRae.
