Funeral services for Clyde Burton Hinton, 85, of Ellijay were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, inside the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones, Min. Luke Hall, Min. Hinton Horn, Mr. Tucker Hall, Mr. Spencer Hall, Mr. Carl Hall and Mr. Micheal Horn officiating. Congregational singing was led by Hinton Horn. Interment followed in the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery. He passed Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Clyde Burton Hinton was born September 8, 1932, in Kent, Ala., to his late parents, Carl Hoffman Hinton Sr. and Delphine Mullins Hinton. He was a member of Ellijay Church of Christ, and he served honorably in the United States Army as a medic during the Korean War. Hinton was a graduate of Auburn University and worked as a textile engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mae Rich Hinton.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah (Carl) Hall and Pam (Tim) Hall, of Ellijay, GA, and Johnna (Micheal) Horn of Wetumpka, Ala.; son, Phillip (Amy) Hinton of Dalton; grandchildren, Carla Clance, Carey Hall, Luke Hall, Keli Miller, Taylor Horn, Hinton Horn, Shyanne Horn, Spencer Hall, and Tucker Hall; 11 great grandchildren; brother, David Hinton of Wetumpka; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Luke Hall, Spencer Hall, Tucker Hall, Hinton Horn, Jay Miller, Ken White, Tim Hall, and Micheal Horn.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Georgia Bible Camp or to Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, both in care of the Ellijay Church of Christ, at 351 North Main Street, Ellijay, GA, 30540, in memory Hinton’s memory.
Logan Funeral Home of Elijay was in charge of arrangements.
