Shooting in Blundale leads to arrest of 17-year-old

On Tuesday, Dec. 19, at approximately 10:45 p.m., deputies from the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office and Emanuel County EMS were dispatched to a residence in the Blundale area of Emanuel County in reference to an apparent domestic altercation that resulted in one person being shot multiple times.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the shooting victim, identified as Jonathan Woodrow Mimbs, 43, and began rendering aid with EMS arriving shortly thereafter. Mimbs was immediately transported to Emanuel Medical Center for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Interviews conducted at the residence led to the arrest of Mimbs’ stepson, William Tyler Roberson, 17, of the same address. Roberson was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
He reported for an initial hearing Wednesday, Dec. 20 with The Honorable Judge Kathy S. presiding. He has been charged with the felony offense of murder for allegedly causing the death of Mimbs and is currently being held without bond at the Emanuel County Jail.
