East Georgia State College Bobcat Baseball players Parker Stahlman and Tyler Owens have both signed on to four-year schools to continue their baseball careers and their education.
Stahlman, an outfielder from Macon, joined EGSC’s team from Perry High School. He will continue his career and education at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
“Parker is a tremendous young man with a serious love for the game of baseball,” said Interim Head Coach Dusty Hess. “He brings energy to the park, he’s a great teammate and he gives everything he has at all times. Offensively, he is extremely versatile and can do everything with the bat. He is the toughest out in the lineup and his speed plays a big factor in his ability to always be on base wreaking havoc. We are very excited for Parker, his family and Lee University!”
Owens, a right-handed pitcher from Sylvania, came to EGSC from Sylvania High School. He will continue his education and baseball career at Georgia Southern University.
“Tyler is a returning conference starter that had an exceptional freshman season for us,” said Hess. “He works extremely hard on and off the field, which has led to the gains he has made since he stepped on campus. Tyler’s work ethic, focus and overall character has been a very fun process to be a part of, and he is very deserving of moving on to a school like Georgia Southern.”
“These Bobcats make us proud,” said Athletic Director Chuck Wimberly. “Congratulations to Tyler and Parker.”
