On Friday, November 3, 2017, beginning at 5:30 p.m., join the East Georgia State College family as they enjoy First Friday at The Morgan House. This month, there will be music by the EGSC Music Makers and an exhibit of photography from Juan Pablo Cardona.
Cardona’s work is defined as magical realism but in a documentary current, focusing on a vision of Mexico that captures the nostalgia, timelessness and contemporary vibe. His work outlines an anthropological search through a recovery of a disappearing Mexico, giving importance to a precise moment within an inconsequential event.
He graduated from Anahuac University as an industrial designer, but his visual education has taken place at the Saúl Serrano Photo Art Center. He was the only documentary photographer to capture the Bicentennial and Centennial Festivities in 2010, which were organized by the federal government, and he has had work exhibited in the Gallery Punctum and recognized by CONACULTA (The National Council for Culture and the Arts) in its last Convocatoria 2014.
Refreshments this month will be provided by the School of Social Sciences.
The Morgan House is located at 521 West Moring Street in Swainsboro. Don’t miss this great chance for the community and campus to interact in a fun, relaxed evening of fellowship and entertainment.
