On October 12, Twin City Elementary had a very successful Family Reading Night with nearly 200 people in attendance. It was co-sponsored by Emanuel County Family Connection and the school.

Franklin Memorial library participated by distributing books to students through the Reading Is Fundamental program. Wellcare attended as well and handed out promotional items and information to parents. Students from Emanuel County Institute’s Beta Club chapter served as rotation escorts.

The fun evening revolved around family reading. Five different books were read to the group in a rotation style. After the reading of each book, a snack related to the story was served to the families. Family Connection and TCE would like to extend their gratitude to the ECI Family and Consumer Science classes for their preparation.

The evening ended with a meal of vegetable soup prepared by the school cafeteria. Door prizes were given out as well. The readers for the evening were the very enthusiastic elementary school teachers.
