Ruth Young Lampp, 92

   Funeral services for Ruth Young Lampp, 92, of Swainsboro were held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. She passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.

   Mrs. Ruth Young Lampp was born December 31, 1924, in Rockledge to the late Jackie Young and Martha Stewart Young. She was a nurse at Smith Powell Hospital and volunteered at Fairview Park Hospital. She and her son-in-law, Riley Johnson, produced a radio broadcast entitled “Stroll Down Memory Lane,” which aired for more than 20 years. Lampp was a member of First Assembly of God and a charter member of Emanuel Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pershing Jutt Lampp; brothers, Ellie J. Young, Eddie Young, and Elvin Young; sisters, Avis Young, and Grace Holt Brantley; and grandson, Rick Johnson.

  Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne (Lynn Johnson) Price of Swainsboro and Patsy L. Johnson of Kite; son, Delton (Charlyne) Lampp of Dublin; grandchildren, Joey (Teri) Price, Ashley (Joey) Hood, Dr. J.P. (Kelly) Price, Joan P. Lawson, Julie (Tommy) Rogers, Allen (Christy) Clements, Lori (Hugh) Sears, Carla Powell, Dee Dee Parker, Denise Googe, Michael (Rhonda) Johnson, and Junior Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Dusty) Spires, Rob Sears, Justin Clements, Ashtyne Fair, Jordan Lawson, Madison Lawson, Juliana Hood, Taylor Hood, Alecia (Brad) Wiggins, Ryan (Kim) Price, Marla (Ashley) Hooks, Jennifer (Shay) Kelly, Patrick (Lauren) Price, Matthew (Lauren) Rogers, Anna Johnson, Patsy Kay Johnson, Alana Johnson, Mikey Johnson, Cody Carmichael, Kyle Carmichael, Alex Googe, McKenzie Googe, Zachory Googe, Cassidy Parker, Kendall Parker, Sam Price, and Grady Price; great-great-grandchildren, Ayden Stockholm, Clayton Johnson, Richard Johnson, Mason Spires, Mikaylin Spires, Megon Spires, Charlsey Kelly, Tyler Kelly, Ella Jo Hooks, Broxton Hooks, Nora Wiggins, Erin Wiggins, Tess Rogers, and William Rogers; special caregivers, Deloris Kelly, and Gladys Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

   Pallbearers were Kenny Young, Sammy Young, Homer Garnto, Keith Johnson, Shay Kelly, and Randy Buxton.

   Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
