   Funeral services for Leroy Howard “L. H.” Weise, 92, of Swainsboro will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Weise Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, from 5 – 7 p.m. He passed away Saturday, Oct 7, 2017, at his residence after an extended illness.

   Mr. Leroy Howard “L.H.” Weise was born in Macon. He lived most of his life in Orlando, Fla., until his retirement in 1989, when he relocated to Swainsboro. He was employed with Orange Buick in Orlando, Fla., was a boat builde,r and later owned and operated L. H. Weise Taxidermy Studio until his retirement. He was a past member of the Orlando Rotary Club, Florida Swamp Rats, and was the founder of Florida Taxidermy Association, serving as the first president. Continuing his community involvement, Weise was also a member of the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling with the love of his life and wife of 68 years, Jean Weise. He also loved racing boats and calling square dances. He was Methodist by faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Jean Weise; his parents, Leroy and Lillian Milner Wise; sister, Mable Vaughan; and brother, William McFather.

   Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne Davis of Swainsboro; two sons, Francis Howard (Joanne) Weise of Boca Raton, Fla., and Roy Weise of Adrian; one brother, John (Kathleen) McFather of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Jennifer Weise (Eric) Pasternak, Mya Whitt (Laney) Robinson, and Chase Davis; and three great-grandchildren, Rustin Carberry, Russell Robinson and Shawn Robinson; and nieces, nephews, and extended family.

   Pallbearers will be Howard Weise, Roy Weise, Chase Davis, Shawn Robinson, Russell Robinson, and Travis Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club.

   Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
