Eunice Fields Scott Sconyers, 91

   Graveside services for Eunice Fields Scott Sconyers, 91, of Swainsboro were held Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Keith Claxton officiating. She passed on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.

   Mrs. Eunice Fields Scott Sconyers was born November 24, 1925, in Swainsboro to the late Hartridge W. Fields  and Carmel Bramlitt Fields. She retired from Independent Life Insurance Company. Sconyers was a loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, serving as the church pianist and organist for more than 35 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Scott and Math “Buddy” Sconyers; sister, Lucille Claxton; and brothers, Rudolph Fields, Claude Fields, and Bobby Fields.

   Survivors include one daughter, Karen Scott (Noot) Irvin; son, Scott (Sally) of Moultrie; one step-daughter, Linda Sconyers; five grandchildren, Hannah Irvin (Steve) Claxton, Scott Irvin, Casey Scott, Kelli Scott, and Donna (Wes) Horne; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, and extended family.

   Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, or to the Shriners Hospital for Burned and Crippled Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.

   Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
