Community invited to Public Safety Education Day

   Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., citizens are invited to a public safety education seminar at the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department located on McLeod Bridge Road. Tips on improving safety in the home, in the car, and during travel will be discussed.

   Those who attend will have an opportunity to visit the fire safety house, see a demonstration of a grease fire, watch a demonstration of the “Jaws of Life” as used in an auto extrication, see an impaired driving demo with beer goggles, and observe a rollover simulator in use. Also, child safety seats installments can be checked, as well as individuals’ blood pressure. Smokey Bear from the Georgia Forestry Commission will be on hand, and free hot dogs and Coca-Colas will be handed out while supplies last. Vehicles from…
