Carolyn “Joyce” Anderson, 77

   Funeral services for Carolyn “Joyce” Anderson, 77, of Wadley were held Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ricky Anderson Jr. officiating. Interment followed in the Midville City Cemetery. She passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.

   Mrs. Carolyn “Joyce” Anderson was born December 29, 1939, in Swainsboro to the late Carswell and Pearl Woods Tapley. She was a homemaker, loved her family deeply, and liked to have fun. Anderson, not one to beat around the bush, said and practiced her own advice to “tell it like is.” She was a member of Midville Baptist Church and, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lee Anderson, and brothers, Bennie Tapley and James Tapley.

   Survivors include one daughter, Betty (Justin) Smith of Swainsboro; three sons, Ricky (Melanie) Anderson Sr. of Midville, Steve (Pam) Anderson of Bartow, and Marlon (Lisa) Anderson of Wadley; one sister, Judy (Duane) Hargrove of Horn Lake, Miss.; two brothers, Wayne (Connie) Tapely of Sandersville and Wyman (Ann) Tapley of Evans; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

   Pallbearers were Christian Anderson, Chandler Anderson, Cameron Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Andrew Anderson, and Josh Anderson.

   Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
