Meet Jule Badie Jr., current resident of Twin City and native of Garfield.
Badie recently announced his intent to run for Twin City City Commission. He is a deacon and member of Mt. Zion Church located in Garfield, and he has been married to Shelonda Badie of Glenwood for one year. Together, the couple has a total of 11 children and 11 grandchildren. Badie also owns of his own trucking business.
During his time in Twin City, Badie formed a council to renovate and raise funds for one of the town’s community parks. The City of Twin City matched funds raised by Badie and council to bring the renovations to fruition. In addition, the private council, in collaboration with the City, was able to collect other funds through three grants. This money was used to resurface a basketball court and purchase a swing, a slide, a leap-frog, and monkey bars. The acts put in by Badie were fueled by his peresonal determination to see city growth and pass down a better developed community to younger generations.
Twin City is important to me because that is my hometown,” said Bady. He also acknowledges that there are many aspects which need to be addressed in order for growth to happen. One of these aspects is the need for community members to come together. “I love Twin City and want to see it grow. I want the younger generation to be able to see the paths laid down grow, and I’m willing to do the work required to do so.”
