ECI FBLA and FCCLA are hosting a peanut butter drive for Weekend Blessings, a backpack program that provides a weekend supply of kid-friendly, nutritious food to children that are at risk for food insecurity in Emanuel County. Until the end of the first quarter of the annual ECI versus SHS football game on August 25, schools throughout Emanuel County will compete in a “peanut butter war” to stockpile Weekend Blessings’s costliest item. Students should turn in their jars of peanut butter to their homeroom teacher. Other peanut butter donations may be dropped off at any of the schools in the office. The winning middle and high school will receive a dress down day for students, and the winning elementary\primary school will be rewarded with a popsicle party. In addition, the winning schools will be presented trophies at halftime. All community members are encouraged to participate in the first annual Peanut Butter War. Please help support Weekend Blessings!
