Mary Edmond Murphy, 72

   Funeral services for Mary Edmond Murphy, 72, were held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at Trinity Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Elder D.G. Mosley II presiding. Interment followed at the Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died August 23, 2017. Mrs. Mary Edmond Murphy was born February 6, 1945, in Brunswick to the late John Edmond and Fannie Mae Clark. She later moved to Swainsboro, where she spent most of her life. Murphy was employed by Dr. R.H. Sasser until her retirement. She was joined in holy matrimony to John Edward Murphy, and to this union, two children were born. At an early age, Murphy joined Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, John Edward Murphy; daughter, Brenda F. Freeman; son, Jacob Lee Murphy; two brothers, Bobby Edmond and Charlie Edmond; one sister, Susie Mae Wilson; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and family friends. Pallbearers were Jermaine Edmond, Dale Simmons, Lee Edmond, Derrick Givens, Luther Hodges, Kenneth Freeman, Bennie Jones, and Randy Pierce. Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
